Adolfo Orsi

Adolfo is an historian of Italian motorsport, noted collector car expert, specialist in authenticity and staunch advocate of preservation. He has also served as Chief Class Judge of the FIVA Award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance since its inception in 1999.

Adolfo Orsi

As the grandson of Adolfo and son of Omar Orsi, who held the reins of Maserati between 1937 and 1969, Adolfo Orsi Jr. developed his own passion for motorcars during his adolescence. The passion remained and, in the years following, shaped the course of his life. Mr. Orsi has coordinated and overseen restorations of some of the most significant Italian cars ever produced. He has curated numerous historical exhibitions and, for the past 23 years, co-authored the Classic Car Auction Yearbook, a historical reference book sponsored by Credit Suisse that provides an in-depth and unique analysis of top international auction sales. Mr. Orsi is a Charter Member of the International Chief Judge Advisory Group, has served as Chief Class Judge of the FIVA Award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance since its inception in 1999, and has been Chief Judge of the official concours celebrating the Ferrari 60th, Lamborghini 50th and Maserati 100th anniversaries.

Raffaele Gazzi

Raffaele Gazzi, a long-time enthusiast of automotive history and of vintage cars in general, was still a bank manager in 1988 when he began dedicating a few of his weekends to working with Adolfo Orsi to create the most important auctions for classic cars and memorabilia in Italy. At the end of 1991, Raffaele joined Historica Selecta as part owner. In addition to co-organizing numerous ongoing events and exhibitions for the company, Raffaele often serves as secretary of jury or judge at various, leading concours d’elegance.
